How To Cultivate Self-Love

During the week of love, self-love came up in the chat with the amazing women in my community. Following up the talk we had with emotional eating coach Berenice Mertens, did you know that only 2% of us women love, like, accept...their body?!!!

That makes 98% who shrink by the sight of their reflection in the mirror, who avoid swimwear, shorts and tight clothes, who cultivate negative talk while layering on creams and make up....

I feel very shocked by this and called to elevate this number. Who's with me? Who wants to feel great when looking at themselves, with or without makeup?

Who wants to walk down the street feeling confident?

Who will be the one to tell their besties, "F* hell you look absolutely fabulous today!"

So I promised information about sex - haha - seriously. I remember a wellness workshop I held in Tokyo where it ended with a list of rituals that help cultivate calm during stressful times. I remember the last point very well. It said; Have sex.

Sex alone, sex with a partner. It doesn't matter. What matters is to touch the body, in a loving way as to climax, yes but more so as to give it LOVE. And do you know how to get that fantastic feeling? it's when you are RELAXED.

So it's like a cat chasing its tail. Where do you start, especially when you feel stressed, anxious, tired or are the 98% who rather do it in the dark so as not to see the body.

Lets push pause - take a few gorgeous full deep breaths in and relax that body of yours.

  • Light some candles. Put flowers in a vase. Make your space precious.

  • Tune into your favourite chill out songs.

  • Move your body a bit - just feel where it's tight, where it can do with some gentle stretch and move to the music, how YOU FEEL IT.

  • Why not prepare some massage oil - I have one coming up for your sensual days on Asagiri Beauty very soon.

  • Or diffuse calming scents  - the classic being lavender which is calming and arousing.

  • Give yourself a big hug - massage your body - touch your body and kiss the person you love (or not).

How will you care about yourself today? What brings you joy? What turns you on? What elevates your sensuality?

I'd like you to do me a favour. Next time you catch yourself bad mouthing yourself, belittling the reflection in the mirror, hiding in basic black baggy stuff - switch to LOVE MESSAGES, rainbows and glitter. Whatever it takes to get out of that old pattern that doesn't serve your confidence, calm and wellbeing.

Promise?

I have created a wellness kit to help you cultivate a positive mindset - I named it Magical Mornings, because every morning is a chance for a new beginning which makes it the best moment to make changes to unleash your fullest authenticity - with confidence and TLC.
